What is an OEIC?
Also known as a ‘unit trust’, an OEIC (Open Ended Investment Company) pools your investment with other investors through units in a fund. Each fund has its own clear investment objective and is managed by a dedicated fund manager.
Henderson has a broad range of OEIC funds, spanning a variety of asset classes such as equities, bonds and property. We cover all major markets of the world, and offer specialist funds such as technology, smaller companies and strategic funds.
The benefits of investing in a Henderson OEIC include:
-
Cost-effective investment
- dealing directly in assets such as equities and bonds is expensive, but an OEIC uses economies of scale to minimise cost for investors.
-
Single pricing
- you can check the unit price of the fund on a daily basis. No separate buying and selling prices, no spreads, no confusion.
-
Share classes
- we issue different share classes, with different charging structures to give you greater choice and flexibility. We offer three share classes within each fund, including one with no initial charge. Details of the share classes are available in the Henderson Investment Funds brochure.
-
Easy access
- you have access to your investment when you need it and can switch between different funds as your needs change.
-
Tax efficient
- like unit trusts, qualifying OEIC funds can be held within your ISA or SIPP and therefore enjoy major tax advantages.
-
Regulation
- OEICs are regulated by the FSA to ensure private investors are rightfully protected.
